Can you imagine a more beautiful and meaningful site for a photography studio than the Hartwig Alley? The alley is one of the most beautiful parts of Lublin city centre, a place named after the Hartwig family of outstanding representatives of Polish culture, including Edward Hartwig, one of the world’s best-known Polish photographers of the 20th century.
It turns out that it is possible, although very unlikely. On Thursday, October 22nd 2015 Workshops of Culture opened a new photography studio in the Hartwig Alley. It is here that we can discover the secrets of analogue photography and learn about the work of photographers and laboratory assistants at the turn of 19th and 20th century. We can commission a portrait or buy landscape photographs. Every month you can meet here acclaimed photographers who pass on their knowledge to beginners. We want to believe that we will spread our passions to the citizens of Lublin and Europe. We hope that, taking inspiration from Master Hartwig’s explorations and works, we will all become completely absorbed in the noble black and white landscape and portrait photography.
