Carnaval Sztukmistrzów is a period of grand shows fusing theatre and new circus that take place in the urban space. This event continues the tradition of the Sztuk-mistrze Festival. Artists and circus art masters from all over Europe come to Lublin to perform breathtaking, magical shows and to conduct a series of workshops for experts and beginners alike. The name of the festival refers to the protagonist of Isaac Bashevis Singer’s novel, The Magician of Lublin.
Carnaval Sztukmistrzów consists of:
- fire shows, acrobatics, juggling and clown shows
- street artists pulling passers-by into their shows
- slackliners balancing on a line among historical buildings in the Old Town
- grand shows fusing new circus, theatre and alternative art taking place in the urban space
