Can you imagine a more beautiful and meaningful site for a photography studio than the Hartwig Alley? The alley is one of the most beautiful parts in Lublin’s city centre, a place named after the Hartwig family of outstanding representatives of Polish culture, including Edward Hartwig, one of the world’s best-known Polish photographers of the 20th century.
It turns out that it is possible, although very unlikely. On Thursday, October 22nd 2015 Workshops of Culture opened a new photography studio in the Hartwig Alley. It is a studio dedicated to noble photography techniques, where visitors can get acquainted with various techniques of analogue photography and learn about the work of photographers and laboratory assistants at the turn of the 20th century. It is also possible to commission a portrait or buy landscape photographs.
During workshops held every month, you can meet acclaimed photographers who pass on their knowledge to beginners. At the risk of sounding immodest, we want to believe that we will spread our passions to the residents of Lublin and Europe. We hope that, taking inspiration from master Hartwig’s explorations and works, we will all become completely absorbed in the noble black and white landscape and portrait photography.
